Stunning Car Devices That Take You to the Future
I've noticed that the technological world is evolving so rapidly that people don't catch up even a third of all the inventions. While technological developments are successfully growing in all areas, the automotive industry has seen a lot of innovations that helped car drivers over the years. From tiny improvements, to useful devices, to electric cars, these innovations were helpful to both, the drivers and the pedestrians. Sure, it's all about the scientists who worked really hard in order to deliver safety and convenience to the automotive world. I mean, future is near, with all the cool inventions introduced to us. This post includes fantastic ideas (already implemented) as well as concepts so much expected by car owners and car enthusiasts. Check out brilliant projects which seemed to be a tall tale just a few years ago. "Urban Future" Concept by Audi This is how the road of the future looks like...Dubbed "Urban Future", the concept for the city street that networks with both, vehicles and pedestrians seems to be most eye-cathcing and most effective one ever imagined. I mean we've already seen the concepts for networked cars which would operate autonomously, but the "Urban Future" is a unique concept created with the cooperation of Audi. Consisting of 1,991 square foot section of road, the concept has a digitally programmable LED surface using 3D cameras sensible to both, vehicles and pedestrians. The road of the future will be a so called multifunctional space occupied by the pedestrians and vehicles avoiding the pedestrians.
Audi reveals its big plans for future, to be exact for 2030. Check out in the video below:
Windows of Opportunity by General Motors Imagine your kid getting bored while you are driving...Feeling your pain, GM has released a special concept named Windows of Opportunity (WOO). You may now forget about gameboys and DVD players! The road trip promises more fun with interface that turns the car's backseat windows into transparent screens. What your kid would do is draw on the window or communicate with people on the same road. Unfortunately, the WOO are not to be integrated in the vehicles in the near future. I believe it's rather expensive.
Isn't it awesome to explore the world with this digital tool or simply have fun at the back seat of a car during long-long trip? Check out the video to learn more about Windows of Opportunity.
Health-Check Steering Wheel by BMW You no longer need to attend the hospital, since the health can be checked right behind the wheel. It seems to be a must have thing for old drivers in particular. Developed by research team in Germany in collaboration with BMW group, a steering wheel features an integrated sensor system that can monitor the driver's health condition. The sensors integrated in the steering wheel monitor such vital signs, as heart rate, oxygen saturation in the blood, and skin conductance. Thus the steering wheel not only notifies of dense tiredness, but also warns about heart attacks.
All-electric, fully-enclosed motorcycle by Lit Motors While you can park it in a lot of places, you are also protected from rain and other weather conditions. Saving your gas and providing both safety of a car and freedom of a motorcycle, this vehicle boasts numerous layers of connectivity (H2V, H2C, V2I, and V2V). What will really ease your staying on the road is that weather conditions will be transmitted to the C-1. It'll be advising you the different routes as well. This electric vehicle is expected to cost around $24,000.
Seems like Lit Motors CEO Daniel Kim found a new approach to motorcycles' safety aspect with gyroscopic stability technology. Check out his idea in videos below:
Car Seat Identifying the Driver The scanners that identify fingerprints or eye pattern are the thing of a past, since scientists from Japan came up with scanner that identifies an individual bum. It's all about the pressure sensors that identify the driver while he's taking a seat and send the needed information to the laptop. Thus a thief wouldn't steal your vehicle. Well, at least this system featured 98% of accuracy during experiments. Let's hope your car won't be among those 2%.
